Happy Halloween!

Little houses go to Paris

It was a cold and rainy July day, but fun nonetheless! And us humans, we had fun too, we saw the last Harry Potter movie.

I hope your week is nice so far!|

Catching Up

Like I promised a month and a half ago (O_o), I will make a (mostly) photo recap of some of the things I did since the beginning of this year. I can’t believe we are already in June!

Brace yourselves, this is going to be my longest post ever! :)

Here we go:

In February, we went to visit an old and, unfortunately, no longer functioning chocolate factory at Noisiel. It was a lovely visit, the buildings were beautiful and it was fun to imagine how living and working there must have been. Not easy, I tell you.

(I also love their advertising poster )

Most of February and a week of March was spent making 300 little houses for a special order. It was hard, but really fun too.

The spring finally came (and it’s still here, the longest spring EVER!) and Tomi discovered these sheep and their lambs on one of his biking routes. Of course, I went to see them too because I love sheep. The lambs were smiley and playful, to bad there was a fence between us. :)

I took so many pictures of flowers and blooming trees this spring, it was so beautiful. But I have a soft spot for irises, too bad they are gone so fast!

We take a lot of pictures of dogs on the street. This one was called Boulette (Meatball), very cute!

Flamingos at Jardin des Plantes. What amazing colors!

Petting a peony (also at Jardin des Plantes). I was surprised to see them, as it was the first week of April. I didn’t know they were blooming so early.

People hanging out at Jardin des Plantes, enjoying the beautiful April weather (well, until a guard came and told everybody to get off the grass)

Paris landmarks in spring: The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral and Sacré-Cœur Basilica

We spent some nice evenings by the pond where we live. Everything turned golden and there were many birds to watch.

I loved these handsome ducks hanging out at the park.

We even played basketball one Saturday in May, in front of the Paris City Hall.

A huge apple tart that was tasted by the visitors of a Bread and Pastries Festival in front of Notre Dame de Paris, me included.

It looks like the Paris authorities want to remove them, but the love locks are still hanging on Pont des Arts. There are so many, all sorts of shapes, colors and sizes and some are even engraved with initials.

May14th was the European Night of the Museums and we visited two nice ones: Pinacothèque de Paris and Musée de l’Orangerie

Monet’s huge Water Lilies paintings were really impressive!

I made some new houses too, but not too many. I really liked the three in the second picture. They went to live in Australia where, I am happy to say, they are liked too!

Lately, we started going to the farm again. Here you can see a strawberry I picked trying to make friends with my awesome green bean brooch from Katie.

Riding to the farm among the wheat fields.

The almost friendly donkey at the farm.

Sun kissed strawberries

I hope I didn’t bore you too much with this giant post.  I’ll be back with some new stuff I’ve been working on.

PS: I forgot to tell you that I’m now “likable” on Facebook. You are welcome to keep in touch there if you feel like it.

Paris in Yellow and Grey

On the first day of November we walked a bit around Paris and also went on a touristy, chilly but nice boat trip along the Seine.

And the winner is…

I wanted to make the drawing for my first ever giveaway special, with little papers with names and a video, but, alas, the time flew by today and the darkness came so I had to trust technology to choose the winner of the little house.

So random.org decided that the winning comment was…

and that’s Elizabeth!

Congratulations! I will get in touch with you shortly to get your address.

I hope everybody is having a great weekend !

The Halloween Planet

Have you ever heard about the Halloween Planet? The planet shaped like a pumpkin and lightened by the jack o’ lantern moon? No? Well, here it is!

Now let’s take a closer look…

Oh, we can go closer than that to see better!

Now..maybe that’s too close :) We don’t want to disturb whoever is living in this houses. Yes, the planet is full of orange and black  little houses. Some are haunted by mischievous little ghosties, some  are the homes of witches and other mysterious creatures.

On the Halloween Planet everybody knows that the best houses are the ones in the vicinity of the giant mushrooms. Or even better, on top of one. These mushrooms are very rare indeed.

Usually the witches are the ones living in the mushroom houses, because having a poisonous mushroom nearby comes in very handy for a serious witch.

Here ends our tour on the Halloween Planet. Maybe next year we will even meet some of the mysterious inhabitants of this world, but for now I was happy to show you where they live.

By the way, did you liked their little houses? I know it wouldn’t be very convenient for you to live here, but I bet I can have one of this houses delivered to you.  All you need to do is leave a comment on this post and I will draw a name next Saturday (the 23rd of October) and one of this little houses may be  yours!

PS: Don’t forget to visit A Fanciful Twist for more Halloween party fun!

It’s Party Time!

Halloween Party tomorrow graciously hosted by Vanessa from A Fanciful Twist. Let the fun begin!

TSPO in Paris

We went to see Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra a couple of weeks ago at Nouveau Casino, a rather small venue, but very nice. I haven’t been to a live concert in a while so it was a really fun evening, these guys are full of energy.:)
