A Belated Happy New Year!

I found it was so easy to disconnect almost completely from all things computer and internet for almost two weeks. I’m still amazed, as I often think I couldn’t live without them! But I did and I survived. In fact, it’s hard to get back into the usual routine since I came back from Romania on Monday. But slowly I started working and answering mails and catching up with my favorite blogs.
Even if it feels like New Year’s Day was ages ago, I’m sending you my best wishes for 2011! May it be filled with good tea and good things all around!
Happy December!
December came with snow and freezing temperatures, the perfect weather to appreciate the coziness of home. I’m happily working on all sorts of Christmas-y things for the shop and for friends and family.
I hope everyone will have a beautiful December!

Christmas Villages

Here are the winter villages I’ve done recently. The first one is sold and the second one is still available in my Etsy shop. This one is sold now too and it’s on it’s way to Australia! How exciting!
Working on a rainy day

I love rainy days! We had a lot of those lately and there’s nothing better when outside is raining and the wind is blowing the last leaves, than drinking a cup of tea (or several) while painting and playing with clay, planning future little winter villages. I’ll show you the villages that are already finished tomorrow.
Fox Box
I’m in the middle of painting some treasure boxes, in different shapes and sizes and I thought I’d share one I finished a while ago.

wooden box, painted with acrylics, 14 X 11 X 7 cm (5.5 X 4.3 X 2.75 “), SOLD
Paris in Yellow and Grey

On the first day of November we walked a bit around Paris and also went on a touristy, chilly but nice boat trip along the Seine.
And the winner is…
I wanted to make the drawing for my first ever giveaway special, with little papers with names and a video, but, alas, the time flew by today and the darkness came so I had to trust technology to choose the winner of the little house.

So random.org decided that the winning comment was…

and that’s Elizabeth!
Congratulations! I will get in touch with you shortly to get your address.
I hope everybody is having a great weekend !
The Halloween Planet
Have you ever heard about the Halloween Planet? The planet shaped like a pumpkin and lightened by the jack o’ lantern moon? No? Well, here it is!

Now let’s take a closer look…

Oh, we can go closer than that to see better!

Now..maybe that’s too close
We don’t want to disturb whoever is living in this houses. Yes, the planet is full of orange and black little houses. Some are haunted by mischievous little ghosties, some are the homes of witches and other mysterious creatures.

On the Halloween Planet everybody knows that the best houses are the ones in the vicinity of the giant mushrooms. Or even better, on top of one. These mushrooms are very rare indeed.

Usually the witches are the ones living in the mushroom houses, because having a poisonous mushroom nearby comes in very handy for a serious witch.

Here ends our tour on the Halloween Planet. Maybe next year we will even meet some of the mysterious inhabitants of this world, but for now I was happy to show you where they live.

By the way, did you liked their little houses? I know it wouldn’t be very convenient for you to live here, but I bet I can have one of this houses delivered to you. All you need to do is leave a comment on this post and I will draw a name next Saturday (the 23rd of October) and one of this little houses may be yours!
